Russian River Valley

2014 Heather Pinot Noir
Heather Pinot Noir has lovely notes of cherry and pomegranate. Flavors of black currant, mushrooms and peppercorns are integrated with an earthy quality. The mouthfeel is balanced and fresh while presenting a creamy mid palate before a smooth finish.
This steep Russian River Valley vineyard is planted to the 777 and Swan clones of Pinot Noir and is on top of a southwest facing hill. The location is known to be within a cooler part of the southern valley and is planted on Goldridge soil.
The vineyard was harvested in late September. The juice was on the skins for 14 days during fermentation prior to being pressed off to tank to begin malolactic fermentation. The wine was racked to 100% neutral French oak barrels before aging for 14 months and bottling unfiltered and unfined.
Food Pairing Notes
Savory and earthy dishes such as duck confit with Chantrelles, white cheddar polenta and hard cheeses.

Our new favorite Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Perfect balance of fruit and herbs, and it's named after the winemaker's wife.
