2014 Drouthy Neebors
The Drouthy opens with dark fruits; blackberry, black raspberry and blackcurrants, and dark spice elements; bay leaf, sage. The opening invites you to plunge in and discover the minerality; pine, cured meats and liquorice. The wine is a beautiful food wine showing lovely balance and would pair with gamier foods or mushrooms to highlight the minerality in the wine and tie it with the darker fruits and spice. This wine will also age very well, I would recommend again a couple of years cellaring and decanting in it's youth to enable the wine to express it's beautiful and deep bouquet.
The winning blend in 2014 is made up of 37% Atoosa's Vineyard, 36% Samantha's Vineyard, 27% Moaveni Vineyard
