Bright ruby purple color. Fresh aromatics leading with bing cherry, redcurrant and spice develop with a violet perfume. Initially bright and fresh palate with red fruit and spice broadening with cherry and a toasted minerality to frame the fruit. The wine has a lovely youthful acidity adding freshness to the palate and enabling it to be paired with a variety of foods, including fish.

The Trenton Station fruit was hand harvested on October 14th 2008. The wine spent 16 days on the skins during the primary fermentation using native yeasts. The wine was pressed directly into French oak barrels, 20% new, where it completed its malolactic fermentation, again using native yeasts. The wine was blended with 15% wine from the Unti vineyard in Dry Creek. The resulting wine was bottled in December of 2009 unfiltered and unfined. The wine is now being released with an additional 9 months of bottle aging. 192 cases were produced.
