2014 Kenzie Rose
Sorry, this product is sold out even to our Drouthiest of Neebors
Kenzie Rose is named after the winemaker's god daughter, Mackenzie.
Light Mango color. The nose exudes red berries and currants, fresh strawberries and redcurrants with a citrus background showing Tangerine peel and Key lime. In the mouth, the wine has a generous mid palate, which is kept light with an uplifting acidity. Fresh strawberries and zesty orange.
Our inaugural vintage of Rose was created from "saignee" juice from both the Samantha's and the Atoosa's syrahs. The juice was left in contact with the skins for 2 hours then put into neutral french oak for the primary fermentation. A yeast strain from the Bandol region in France was used to ferment the juice, which took 8 days. The ML fermentation was inhibited and the wine was aged in the neutral french oak for a further 5 months when it was bottled unfined, but filtered.
