2012 Bonnie Glen

92pts from Wine Enthusiast

After a brief hiatus in 2011 we made it back to Bennett Valley in 2012. Bennett valley is one of our favorites and we just think it is beautiful, which is why we called our Bennett Valley wine Bonnie Glen meaning beautiful valley in Scots. In 2012,  Bonnie Glen was made with fruit from the Vivio vineyard and is a blend of 3 clones of Syrah; 877, 174 and 470.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
A beautifully dark expression of Bennett Valley Syrah. Dark purple in color and in it's fruit profile with Blackcurrants and black berries. The wine also has some savory notes of olive, violet and smoked meat. In the mouth the wine is incredibly silky and plush with a lovely bittersweet chocolate finish.
Winemaker Notes
The fruit was harvested at night on the 18th of October and was destemmed and cold soaked for 4 days. The wine remained on skins for 19 days and was pressed on November 5th into tank and then rack to barrels where it aged for 14 months. The wine was bottled in December of 2013.
